Pupils work in groups of five with a Centre Assistant. There is a teacher input of about 20 minutes at the beginning of each session. Through self-evaluation pupils identify targets on which they wish to focus. The targets cover various aspects of Literacy, Numeracy, ICT and Key skills and can be achieved though a bank of activities. At the end of the 5 weeks the young people are invited to a presentation evening to share their work with their teachers and families and receive prizes from celebrities. The programme is designed to raise pupil's confidence, raise skill levels, encourage a sense of teamwork and make learning fun. | |||||
